Soundstream T5.104 Subwoofer
The Tarantula T5 Series 1,800 Watt 10" Subwoofer is a die-cast, 1,800-watt, dual-voice coil (DVC), 4-ohm subwoofer with direct connect wire leads. This subwoofer retains the key components expected from the T5 series, including a massive 1,000-watt, 3-inch voice coil, a triple-stack magnet structure, a high-density Spruce pulp sub-cone, and the iconic black-on-black Soundstream spider.
The Overcompensating Motor Structure of the T5 subwoofer provides increased magnetic strength, which is further enhanced by the 12mm T-Yoke and Top Plate design that improves low-frequency dynamics. To reduce voice coil heat build-up, the subwoofer features a vented T-Yoke and frame.
Constructed with a non-magnetic, non-resonant die-cast aluminum frame, the T5 subwoofer boasts a 3-inch, 4-layer voice coil with direct connect wire, which increases the power handling capabilities. The high-temperature tolerance adhesives used in the subwoofer's construction resist thermal failure.
The extended excursion polyether foam surround is equipped with UV and chemical protection, while the dual poly-cotton suspension dampens violent accelerations. The subwoofer also includes a 1-piece gasket/trim ring with concealed mounting holes.
The Tarantula T5 Series 1,800 Watt 10" Subwoofer delivers impressive specifications, with a maximum power of 1,800 watts, an RMS power of 900 watts, and an efficiency of 83.5 dB (1W/1M). The subwoofer's voice coil configuration is a 3-inch, dual-voice coil (DVC) with a 4-ohm impedance.
